Foundation Training Downunder 14 & 15 November 2008

four-harmonious-friends.jpgIt is with great pleasure that we announce the first ever two-day mini Foundation Training Downunder, which will be held at Chenrezig Institute 14th & 15th November 2008.

All centre directors, board members, spiritual program coordinators, teachers, staff members, volunteers, and interested students are invited and strongly encouraged to attend.  This will be an extraordinary retreat-style two day program, in the gorgeous Chenrezig surroundings, and an integral part of one’s practice of offering service within the FPMT organisation.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche will lead retreat in 2008

FPMTA National Meeting - Nov 17-18 2007

2847detail_01_opt.jpgTara Institute, Melbourne were the hosts of the bi-annual FPMTA national meeting held on November 17-18, 2007. The meeting had a really good turnout with most centres/activites of FPMT within Australia represented. Phillipa Rutherford and Bruce Farley attended the meeting from Chandrakirti Meditation Centre - Nelson, New Zealand and Nancy Patton, Editor of Mandala magazine joined the group on Sunday.

Dalai Lama - Sydney Teaching 2008

The Dalai Lama will return to Australia to give a 5 day Buddhist teaching 11-15 June, in Sydney, Australia. The teachings "Stages of Meditation" a rare text by ninth-century Indian Buddhist scholar Kamalashila.

Choden Rinpoche Tour Jan/Feb 2008

chodenrinpoche2.jpgRevered Tibetan meditation master and spiritual practitioner, Venerable Choden Rinpoche, will teach at Australian FPMT Centres in January and early February 2008. This is a rare opportunity to receive teachings and initiations from an eminent lama who is recognised as both a great scholar and a skilful teacher in the Mahayana tradition.

Jade Buddha Project - a wonder of the world
lzr_jade_prototype1_thmb.jpgThe Jade Buddha is underway. The carving factory is currently making the second prototype - following advice received from Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Carving of the boulder known as "Polar Pride" will commence in July and the statue is expected to be complete in December this year.
