The bi-annual meetings are a time for centre/activity directors, study group coordinators, FPMTA board of Directors and the National Coordinator to come together as a group over a weekend. Being part of the global FPMT family we all come under Lama Zopa Rinpoches' Mandala within Australia and it is quite important that we meet every six months to discuss and address any issues, review new advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche, as well as support each other and continue to maintain a harmonious relationship nationally. 'The meetings are an opportunity for centre directors and others involved in developing the FPMT in Australia to share experiences, challenges and future vision and to support and inspire one another. They are an opportunity to focus on the bigger picture of Rinpoche’s vision and mandala, otherwise it is too easy to become focussed only on one’s own centre or project. Also getting to know and understand each other personally and the different centres and projects helps to create a ‘family feeling’ and more harmony in the organisation.' Alex Moore - Cittamani Hospice Service 'The November FPMT national meeting was useful in terms of being able to meet up with the other centres to discuss possible joint projects and to gain the benefit of others’ helpful advice and experience.' Stephanie Brennan - Director, Kunsang Yeshe Centre. The members of FPMTA, as a group, steer the direction of FPMTA National Office and make sure that we are keeping in line with FPMT Inc and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's vision, as well as addressing the needs and changes necessary for the growth of FPMTA, as a national body.

'Meeting every six months offers the much needed reminder that we are not operating as isolated entities but rather as part of the mandala of Lama Zopa Rinpoche's mandala. Really waking up to this and offering our service as part of this whole needs this constant reminder offered through these meetings.' Ven Aileen Barry - Coordinator, Liberation Prison Project Australia. 'On a spiritual level it is vital that we continue to build and strengthen the mandala that Lama Yeshe and Rinpoche have created. Our relationships with each other are very important as we are carrying out Rinpoche’s wishes. It is useful and important to meet on a business sense as it allows us to see how others are operating and to learn a great deal through others experience. This is particularly true when first stepping into a major role at a centre.' John Waite - Director, Hayagriva Buddhist Centre & FPMTA Director of the Board. I would like to thank Tara Institute for their wonderful hospitality, fabulous food and for assisting in the smooth running of the meeting, and especially to Llysse Velez for her untiring effort in assisting in all aspects before, during and after the meeting. I would also like to thank everybody that was able to attend this meeting and thank Mark Fernandes for chairing the meeting and Jaala Freeman for taking the minutes. The next meeting will be hosted by Chag Tong Chen Tong, Tasmania on 12-13 April 2008. Look forward to seeing you all in Tasmania. Love and prayers
